Yinka Ilori’s First Book Reveals the Stories Hidden Inside His Chairs

British-Nigerian designer Yinka Ilori has announced Chairman, his first book and the most comprehensive survey yet of his colourful chair designs. The monograph traces more than a decade of work shaped by Nigerian storytelling, London life, diasporic identity and the transformation of discarded furniture.

Ilori’s chairs are never simply functional objects. Altered through bold colour, textiles and unexpected structures, they become portraits, parables and sculptural expressions of memory. The 120-page book will be published this autumn. [Source]
